The warm, dry sunny slopes of the Valais are an Eldorado for the indigenous reptile species, and these fascinating creatures can still find their necessary habitats here.Depending on the location, almost all of the 14 different species occurring in Switzerland have been observed in the Pfyn-Finges Regional Nature Park. These include the magnificent green lizard or the rare smooth snake. With a bit of luck we will meet both on the walk.

The excursion also gives some insight into the ecology of these little-known creatures, and points out what endangers them and how they can be protected.
